Each game in the Devil May Cry series includes several difficulty levels, in order to increase replayability. Traditionally, a grueling but feasible difficulty is accessible from the start, alongside an easier difficulty that is sometimes unlocked by repeatedly failing in the standard mode. Successive levels of difficulty are then unlocked each time the previous mode is completed, all the way Echidna is a giant serpent demoness who rules the great forest in the depths of Demon World. She has taken over the Mitis Forest, where she flies around and scatters her Chimera seed-eggs to propagate further demons, with which she plans to create a world where demons would prosper. Both Nero and Dante run into Echidna and fight her during the course of Devil May Cry 4. In her dragon form The Blitz (Deu: Lightning) is an elite demon which appears in Devil May Cry 4. It is first encountered in Mission 15. Like the Assault and Frost, the Blitz was sired by Mundus as a foot-soldier. It is blind, so it relies on its other senses to viciously attack its foes. However, it will sometimes mistakenly attack other demons. It shields itself within electricity that damages any opponent who Devil May Cry 5 adopts gameplay mechanics from virtually every game in the series before it, even lesser-loved games like Devil May Cry 2 and DmC: Devil May Cry.
